Does Access AI generate summaries and chapters automatically, or does it need setup?
Summaries and expanded smart chapters are generated automatically — no manual activation required. Once added to your Panopto installation, it processes both existing content and newly uploaded recordings without administrators or instructors having to do anything.
Can learners choose which caption language they see?
Yes. When a video has captions in multiple languages, each viewer can select their preferred language directly in the player. No action is required from an administrator or instructor — the choice sits entirely with the learner.
Which languages does Access AI support for captions and translation?
Access AI supports captions and translation across a wide range of languages. Administrators don't need to manually specify or tag the source language for each video — Access AI handles that as part of the captioning process.
Does Access AI work on existing videos, or only on new uploads?
Access AI works across your entire Panopto library, existing content and new uploads alike. Once enabled on your installation, it can process recordings already in your library to generate summaries, add smart chapters and multilingual captions.
Is Access AI available as a standalone product?
No. Access AI is an add-on that requires an active Panopto video CMS licence. If you're not yet a Panopto customer, the video CMS is the starting point, and Access AI can be added as part of your agreement.
